An Important Message From Pastor Eddie | March 17, 2020
Hello Church,
I wanted to give you an update about our Sunday morning services. The City of Allen has asked all churches of 250 and over to no longer hold in-person services. I know for many of us Church is not a luxury but an essential part of our life. We desire to do our part to keep you safe and healthy. The good news is we will hold two streaming services at our regular Sunday service times. I encourage you to engage fully in these services, worship, pray, take notes, and give. Please send a link to a friend and invite them to watch also. I plan to share a word to help anchor you during this unprecedented time in our nation and world. Jesus taught us that it is not the power of the storm that determines our future but the foundation we stand upon.
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
I wish I could tell you how long we will need to do this but; it is not clear at the moment. This situation is very dynamic, and the recommendations change almost daily. I am saddened that we cannot meet together; we are not an organization but a family. I will miss our time together on Sundays. However, please stay in touch, pray for one another, and support one another.
We also had to make some changes to our small groups and other planned events based on the latest federal guidelines. Check out the details in the post below.
Lastly, I want to remind you how important your giving is to us as a body. We give as Christians based on scripture, not because we attend a service. We do it from a heart of worship and generosity. This is not a time for us to step back from one of the ways God blesses our life. If you have never taken advantage of our text giving or online giving opportunities, please do. We have also made the decision to postpone our Heart for the House offering until we can gather in person as one body. I know the kids worked hard to save up and we want them to have that giving experience in service.
We are looking for opportunities for how we can serve our community during this crisis and will have more details soon.
We are praying for you church!
Life to the Fullest,
Pastor Eddie and Julie
