August Series

It Is Written

We know that God creates with His words. We often underestimate the power of His word because so often words mean so little in our culture. We see words used loosely without thought, promises that are broken and people sometimes don’t even stand behind what they say. The opposite is true of God, His words establish our very life. His word is a creative foundation we can build a stable life with. In August we will take a look at the life-changing power in the His word for our life.

Super Sunday is August 19th!

We are excited to announce an important update to giving at City Point! As you know, your generosity and financial partnership with us is how we are able to help expand the Kingdom. We value our church family and want to make sure everyone at City Point is aware of this exciting new giving platform, which allows for simple giving through a variety of ways, including mobile and online. You can try it out before Sunday, and even set up an account, if you’d like!

To start, you can:

1. Visit our website at
2. Text CITYPOINT to 77977
3. Download our City Point Church App here:

*This applies to ALL online giving, not just those who have recurring giving setup. Our current giving through Fellowship One and Kindred will no longer work so please save the new text number in your phone or setup a new account with PushPay for online giving.

With all this back-to-school business, we thought, “Why not have a little back-to-school action in our Preschool Department?” Jesus is our Teacher, so let’s look at the encounters He had with kiddos. Stories about Samuel listening to God’s voice, a little boy sharing his lunch and Jesus blessing the children are on the line-up of learning. The littlest lambs will discover all about Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Looking forward to some fabulous Sundays this August!

If you read the Move Up Day announcement and wondered, “What will I do during Sunday services with my 7th grader?” Three words…Junior.Point.Team! All of our 6th-8th graders are welcome to serve in our Preschool classes during either 1st or 2nd service as classroom helpers. Maybe you wanna join them and serve together? Love it! Contact me, Alicia Ingram, at for more information!

Attention all incoming 1st, 5th and 7th graders: Get excited!!! Your Move Up Day has arrived!! It’s going down on Sunday, August 19th.

  • All kiddos entering 1st grade will begin attending City Kids Elementary.
  • All kids entering 5th grade will begin attending Club 56 during the 2nd service.
  • All students entering 7th grade will begin attending Uprise Youth on Wednesday nights at 7pm.
We can’t wait to see what God has in store!!! This is going to be an Incredible School Year!

City Kids

City Kids is having “Move up / Super Sunday” soon. The new school year is upon us and kids will be promoting up to the next grade level on August 19th. We’ll have a great time with giveaways, snow cones and more. We’re also nearing end of a 3-year journey through the Bible. It’s amazing to think that we started with creation in Genesis and are now going through the New Testament letters that the Apostles wrote to the early Church. The constant thread weaving through the scriptures is Jesus. It’s all about Jesus. He was there at creation and he’s coming backs again. Let’s be honest though. Who likes to wait. Kids especially don’t like to wait. Our “Big Picture Question” over the last few weeks is “How do we live while waiting for Jesus’ return? We remember God’s truth, grow in godliness, and spread the Gospel.” (Gospel Project for Kids, 2018)

For Club 56 (5th and 6th grades), they recently had a pool party that was lots of fun, Thanks to Bernie and Sue for hosting! Our 5th and 6th graders are wrapping up a “Jesus at the Beach” series. Jesus wants our obedience. In the little things and the big things. Jesus asked the disciples to cast their fishing nets on the other side of the boat after a long night of unsuccessful fishing. It might not have seemed like a request that made any sense, but their obedience was rewarded. Not only did they snag an incredible catch, they got served breakfast on the beach by Jesus. Amazing!

City Kids is a great place to connect with other believers and make a great impact. Come check us out. We’d love to meet you.

Uprise Youth is the student ministry of City Point led by Andrew & Liz Brenden. We meet every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30pm at the church. Students in 7th-12th grade have an opportunity to make new friends, build a deeper relationship with Christ, and experience God in a real way! Bring some friends from school and come have a great time!
