APRIL Series

Through the Eyes of a Lion

We often see our life through a limited perspective, our vulnerable perspective. The darkness you might feel looming over your life won’t last forever. Heartbreaks heal. Suffering is temporary. Let’s welcome the light and gain a new perspective on our pain. Join us as we find the wild and wonderful calling on our lives. Look at the adventure of your life through His eyes, The Eyes of a Lion.

Get started on the pathway to discovering your purpose and realizing your potential with our Connection Point class! We talk about healthy habits of a believer, how to make a difference in the world you live in and we also share the vision of City Point. If you recently became a follower of Christ or you are interested in joining City Point Church, this is the class for you. Connection Point takes place every six weeks on a Sunday night, from 5:00–8:00 PM, at the end of the class we will share a meal together. To sign up for the next available class, just click on the link below to register so we can include you in the meal and provide childcare if needed.

It’s going to be a beautiful time together – we will enjoy a catered brunch by XO Coffee Company, debut our new spring Sisterhood shirts, plus we have some fabulous give aways and we will have a panel of ladies that will be talking about finding their “Brave” as they have walked through different seasons of life. Invite your girlfriends and join us for an unforgettable day!

Seating is limited so click below to register today!

The cost is only $25 per person if you register by April 7th – after that the cost will increase to $35. Registration closes on April 10th.

Spirit Led Classes are Beginning in May

Who is the Holy Spirit? What is the role of the Holy Spirit? What does being led by the Spirit Mean? What are the gifts of the Holy Spirit? We hear many of these questions often as a church. I think we can more easily understand the role of our heavenly father, and we identify with His Son Jesus. However, many believers are not sure how to relate to the Holy Spirit. It is clear in scripture that he is to play a significant role in our lives. In fact, Jesus said it was to our advantage that the Holy Spirit would come. The spirit of life…the essence of truth…the voice of God. He has always been here, and will always remain. If you have a curiosity about the Holy Spirit, we have just the thing for you. In May we will have a 4- week class to take a look at scripture to help us understand the Holy Spirit. Explore the power and comfort of the one who resides within. Join us on Tuesday evenings – May 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd from 7:00 – 8:00 at the church.

We are excited to announce an important update to giving at City Point! As you know, your generosity and financial partnership with us is how we are able to help expand the Kingdom. We value our church family and want to make sure everyone at City Point is aware of this exciting new giving platform, which allows for simple giving through a variety of ways, including mobile and online. You can try it out before Sunday, and even set up an account, if you’d like!

Easter Sunday is over. Jesus is alive! Now what?

Jesus’ disciples had a lot to process after what they had just experienced. They had been walking with the Son of God for three years. Everything He said would happen did happen. Jesus’ words to them and the mission He purposed for them were powerful. He said they would do greater works than He did. What’s so cool is that Jesus includes us in that plan because we believe in Him. We can do these greater works too with the help of the Holy Spirit!

This April, your preschool and nursery kiddos will learn all about Jesus’ first friends and the works He said we could all do. So take out your hammer and your tools and let’s get to work!

Wanna be a part of those greater works? Contact Alicia Ingram at aingram@citypointchurch.com for more info about joining the preschool and nursery team!

Having fun, enjoying time with friends and meeting Jesus – that’s what’s going on in City Kids. Every week we’re learning more from what the Bible teaches. Recently we’ve been going through “The Epistles” and hearing some of the struggles faced by the early New Testament Church. The message of Christ brought people of many nationalities and backgrounds together, and that merging of different peoples didn’t always go smoothly. Paul and other Apostles wrote letters centering Christians back to the main focus, which was Jesus and his loving sacrifice. The cross made it a level playing field for everyone. As we move into Spring with new growth everywhere, City Kids is celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Pray that the truth of the Gospel will be strongly rooted in our kid’s hearts.

Our 5th and 6th graders in Club 56 are also having a great time each Sunday. Their current study is taking them through the basics of the “10 Commandments.” Beyond the fact that the “10 Commandments” are rules God expects his people to follow, there is the reasoning and effect behind each commandment. They all work together to form the groundwork for how we should relate to God, to family, and to our neighbors.

In Luke 10:27 Jesus summed up all the commandments into two, which are “loving God with your whole being” and “loving your neighbor as yourself.” Pray that our 56’ers will not only identify the righteousness of God, but his desire for relationship. City Kids is a great place to connect with other believers and make a great impact. Come check us out. We’d love to meet you.
